Friendly: Selby Town 0 – 4 Tadcaster Albion

THE ROBINS ARE BACK IN ACTION. 

Selby Town Football Club kicked off the first of their pre-season friendlies on Tuesday night with a home game against NCEL Premier Division side Tadcaster Albion.

In front of 250 spectators The Robins fielded virtually 2 different sides in both halves of the game as did the visitors.

Albion took the lead on 4 minutes when  Alfie Deane looped a shot over Gearge Bason in the home goal.

Town came back strongly and Harry Clapham shot into the hands of the visiting keeper.

There were chances at either end and Town were unlucky to concede 2 goals in a minute just before the break from Mason Wilson and Dean again.

With both sides fielding nearly all new players for the second half, the game progressed at a decent pace, but the home side conceded a fourth goal on 87 minutes when a trialist lashed home from the edge of the penalty area.

Town are next in action this  Friday night when they entertain AFC Goole in the Eric Lawton cup. KO. 7.30pm

Next Tuesday 10th of July, Knaresborough Town visit Richard Street KO 7.30pm. 

Saturday 13th July the players head to Scarborough Athletic 3pm and the following Monday they entertain Albion Sports 7.30pm.

Town round off their pre-season at home to Beverley Town on Saturday 20th July 3pm. The new NCEL season then gets underway on Saturday 27th July when Town visit Harrogate Railway.
